Useful Information

Freshman Housing Guide

Every year NorthbyNorthwestern, NU’s independent online publication, publishes a freshman housing guide. While we all think CCI is the best dorm to live in, it is important to find the right dorm for you. Be sure to check it out if you haven’t.

Mailing things to the Dorm

You cannot mail things to the dorm until the first week of September, so don’t try, because you never know where the things you mail will end up. Check University Residential Life for more information on mailing or shipping items to the dorm.

Moving in

All new students will be moving in Monday, September 12th, 2011 between 9am-4pm. When you sign your housing contract in July, you will be asked to pick a unloading time, and you will be mailed a permit. CCI’s parking lot is right behind the dormitory, so there should be no problem moving in. During move-in, your PAs, a group of volunteers, and the exec board members will be helping you move in.

Wildcat Welcome

Wildcat Welcome is Northwestern’s week-long orientation programs. It is filled with social activities, like “Rock the Beach” or Six Flags Great America, Essential NU’s, and some technical things. For Wildcat Welcome, you will be assigned to a peer adviser, and a group based on your school. Your peer adviser should contact you over the summer with the information. Every Northwestern student who you talk to will tell you that Wildcat Welcome is one of the best weeks you could have at Northwestern, so be sure not to miss out.
